China Chilcano is an interesting and unique restaurant where multiple cuisines and cultures are blended together. Dishes from Peru, China, and Japan are merged to create a new type of dining creation. This restaurant is focused on introducing customers to new flavors through an innovative technique that is displayed on each table. Each table consists of a lazy Susan in the middle that can be used to foster a "sharing" technique where individuals can share small dishes, or tapas, with their friends. This dining option also integrates subtleties from regional dining such as chopsticks, ground seating and traditional Peruvian corn. In addition, the small menu simplifies the process of ordering as well as encourages unfamiliar dishes. The ambiance of this restaurant is very unique with cultural decorations, paintings, and bamboo sticks.
After speaking with our waiter, our group was able to learn what differentiates this business from other restaurants in the city. She strongly emphasized the interior design, customer service and the traditional and cultural aspect of this restaurant to be some of the most vital reasons why this business stands out. These lessons can be applied to any other business industry as well. For instance, any business can learn from China Chilcano and try to implement ideas that would create innovation such as a new concept for the table that included the sharing idea or the interior design taste. In essence, any business can also learn and observe the excellent customer service of this restaurant and further apply it to their business. One thing that our group found very unique about this place was the bathrooms. The bathroom walls were covered with blackboards and lots of notes written with chalk. We connected this idea as a way for people to share, challenge, and foster new ideas with others. Ultimately, this restaurant was not only a new cultural experience for us, but it was also a view to an innovative and successful business. |
